# Find a Dentist Notes
> Finding a dentist you trust takes a little research. A checklist for your first calls and visits.

## Guides
- [Reading Dentist Reviews Sensibly](https://how-to-choose-a-dentist.pages.dev/dentist-reviews-reading/): Dentist reviews reading works best when you look for patterns rather than single comments.
- [Questions to Ask a New Dentist](https://how-to-choose-a-dentist.pages.dev/questions-to-ask-a-new-dentist/): The best questions to ask a new dentist cover availability, how options and costs are explained, and what happens when something goes wrong.
- [What to Notice During an Office Tour](https://how-to-choose-a-dentist.pages.dev/office-tour-visit/): An office tour visit is a chance to judge how a practice actually runs, beyond what its website says.
- [Why Communication Style Matters](https://how-to-choose-a-dentist.pages.dev/communication-style-dentist/): A dentist can be technically excellent and still be a poor fit if you leave appointments confused or hesitant to ask anything.
- [Checking Emergency Availability](https://how-to-choose-a-dentist.pages.dev/emergency-availability-dentist/): Dental pain rarely arrives at a convenient time, so it is worth finding out in advance how a practice handles urgent problems.
